A Business Case Competition was held at Qafqaz University on May 12 within the framework of Qafqaz Business Forum. Five teams composed of students from different departments of Qafqaz University presented the analysis of business strategies of international companies such as Google, Dell, Jet Blue Airlines, Krispy Kream and Wholefoods Market.

On April 19, Professor of Operations Research from California State University Dr. Jorjani visited Qafqaz University to deliver a seminar on the topic “Application of Quantitative Analysis in Operations Management”. The seminar was attended by Qafqaz Business Forum participants and fourth year students from Business Administration Department. During the seminar Professor Jorjani discussed the importance of quantitative analysis and modeling in making decisions regarding project management, supply chain coordination, inventory management, labor planning and other business related decisions.

Qafqaz Business Forum hosted a workshop on March 15 with Kaia Miller who is founder and CEO of a Boston-based consulting firm named Aslan Global, which advises entrepreneurs and government leaders on competitiveness and business strategy. The workshop was opened by Adiljan Abdurazzak, the founder and Coordinator of Qafqaz Business Forum who introduced Ms. Miller to workshop participants.

The pre elimination of 10th International Turkish Olympiad was held at National Academic Drama Theatre of Azerbaijan. In final, song and poem categories 12 students took part for the first place. Winner student will represent Azerbaijan in Turkey with the participation of 140 countries worldwide in June 2012.
Local GSM company Bakcell has met Qafqaz University bachelor and master students within the project of "The Bakcell Alumni". The "Bakcell Alumni" project gives students the chance to develop themselves as a Telecommunicaiton , Information Technology and Marketing specialist. Within the scope of the project students will participate in various activities of Bakcell gaining real world experiecnce. Bakcell will grant scholarships for the successfull students. Tutoring session on “Academy on ICT Essentials for Government Officials” was carried out by the Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, UNDP and Training Centre on Information and Communication Technologies on Asia and Pacific Region of the UN located in the Republic of Korea (APCICT) on 6-7 February 2012. The session was aimed at capacity building of top level civil servants in the field of ICT applications and e-government in civil service and training of these civil servants those who will represent as trainers on ICT.
